Our brief was to design and build a space that felt like it had always been there.
The proposed Garden room would sit amongst newly renovated gardens and next to a modern new build property. It needed to be both functional and design led.
We love to use cedar wood when cladding our garden rooms. In this case we chose to leave the wood untreated to naturally weather overtime leaving a silver finish to its exterior. The garden room would be used all year round so it was fully insulated with Celotex in all walls, floors and ceilings. We created space within the room using reclaimed wood to make a bespoke bar area for entertaining and parties – complete with a zinc wrapped bar top and feature lit shelves. Roof sky lights were installed to create a light and airy space along with bi-fold doors opening out onto a Millboard decking with sunken hot tub, raised flower beds and an outside shower. We created walls internally to house the rooms own heating and hot water system and to create a separate WC area.
